We look for a genuine desire to care for vulnerable people, personal reliability, flexibility, and commitment, coupled with a desire to learn and become part of a supportive team.
It is a pre- requisite that applicants can speak, read and write fluent English, it is essential, as c
lear communication and understanding of Client’s needs is a key component of providing high quality personal care. Medication records and detailed Care Plans both need to be read, understood, acted upon and clearly updated to protect the safety and dignity of Clients.
Carers must be over 18, a full driving licence for the UK and a reliable car are essential.
All staff have ISA and enhanced criminal record checks – this means they have been cleared by the Independent Safeguarding authority to work with vulnerable adults, they have been fully checked against the police database for criminal records, cautions and any relevant local police knowledge.
As we do not work with children, it is not currently a legal requirement for us to check the paedophile register – we however do.
We provide a comprehensive Induction and ongoing training program, which has been designed and developed by our in house training team.
In addition we will support staff to achieve formal qualifications such as NVQ 2 & NVQ 3 in care.
We only promote from within, so opportunities arise to progress to Senior Carer, Supervisor and Care Coordinator. Sometimes staff want to progress further or use there skills in other directions. Former members of our team have progressed to, Specialist Learning Disabilities Facilities, Care Training Managers, Palliative Care Specialist Facilities and Care Management. It is truly inspirational to have supported all our staff and those that have moved on, to make such important contributions to society.
After the initial induction period carers with no previous experience or qualifications can expect to earn over £9/hour and over £10/hour with an NVQ , (enhanced rates apply on bank holidays).
A generous mileage allowance is provided, in addition to holiday pay & pension contributions.
If you are interested in becoming a personal carer, please either call, email, text , via facebook or complete the online application form, we look forward to meeting you.
